Metamorphosis 1

It always astounds me how much life there is in each day – it’s filled with miracles.

When I prepared the little white bouquet of fragrant jasmine, elegant arum lilies and adorable snowballs from my garden in Noordhoek, South Africa, for the past Ycademy Seminar (25 July 2010), little did I know what went on within its secret life… It were those little brown bits on my white table that gave the soft green non-fuzzy caterpillar with its significant markings away.

So far I could not identify it – and so I decided to watch and photograph it over time, calling the two pictures I show you here – spanning about 14 days – “Metamorphosis 1″… to be continued.

Will it be a beautiful butterfly… perhaps a swallowtail as its rearend suggests… or a mega moth?

Metamorphosis 1

Metamorphosis is a biological process that normally happens in clearly defined stages from say larva to pupa and finally to a butterfly or moth. This evolution is often compared to our path from an earth-bound existence up into the freedom of pure spirit.

How many muslces do you have?

Do you know how many muscles you as a human being have?

And if not – I didn’t – how many muscles do you think are in an average caterpillar?

Well – the answer may surprise you, here’s directly quoted from Wiki: “Caterpillars have about 4,000 muscles (compare humans, with 629). They move through contraction of the muscles in the rear segments pushing the blood forward into the front segments elongating the torso. The average caterpillar has 248 muscles in the head segment alone.”

Semiomantics Web Design and Digital Photography

So what have Semiomantics Web Design and Digital Photography in common?

Firstly, in Semiomantics Web Design genre ‘Evolution’ as you can see HERE we need high quality pictures and with rising demand and various topics we need to diversify, especially when no professional photographer delivers the photo material we need – so we have to provide it … and besides:

Today’s Internet demands tons of high quality photos and images; people prefer to capture the essence with a glance and move on with their hectic lives. Stock photos are in high demand and offer especially those who love taking pictures and work on becoming professional with it a decent income source.

However, this doesn’t happen over night and needs targeted attention and work as anything of value in life.

But here are the good news:

These considerations and the fact that we as a Team are well equipped in terms of online post-editing programs (eg. Photoshop, Lightroom etc) and of course decent digital cameras… were decisive to focus, once again, on Digital Photography at the upcoming Ycademy Seminar on 28 and 29 August 2010 – with an emphasis on Stock Photography.

Best of all, all Seminar participants will be part of a brand-new Stock Photo and Media website to be launched and heavily promoted as of 1 September 2010! At this stage, we may not be professional photographers yet – but we are professional Web Designers and spiffy Internet Marketers as our Google Top 10 rankings proove daily – the combination could bring impressive results over time!

Exciting and yet another reason to push ourselves to new levels and grow…
